Chevy Woods: NEW SONG

WOAH.

Chevy went IN. And I expected it, when doesn’t he impress. Backed by a nice beat produced by Kirk Knight, his flow is smooth and he steps up. Smoke DZA features on this track, and all 3 of these artists were on tour this summer on the ‘Under the influence tour’ along with Wiz and A$AP.

Check this out.

ScHoolboy Q: Man of the Year

The Top Dawg man has released a new song titled ‘Man of the Year’ in the past 24 hours, and this is to be published on the new NBA Live 14 soundtrack.

ScHoolboy goes in on this track, with a hook that will most likely be playing on my mind for the next couple of days, and lyrics which claim he is THE man of the year. A bold statement from the Black Hippy member, but one he defiantly could achieve. With his new album ‘Oxymoron’ release date to be announced within the next week, fans of Q will have a lot to look forward to towards the end of the year and going into 2014. Also fans should be looking at the next 24 hours as TDE CEO tweeted last night that new ScHoolboy music will be on the way so watch out for that.

Rejjie Snow: New music

New video and music from one of my favourite rappers Rejjie Snow. This time Rejjie drops a chilled instrumental for his song ‘Black Pancakes’, adding his old school flow on top of it and showing us a bit of an early preview for his upcoming mixtape, ‘Dear Annie’ which will be dropping in the new year. In the meantime hit up his music on YouTube and Soundcloud, and take a look at his previous album ‘Rejovich’ which topped J Cole AND Kanye West albums in the hip hop charts earlier this year.

More to follow on this artist, and a review of his new mixtape in the new year.

Pusha T – Nosetalgia ft Kendrick Lamar

This week I couldn’t get this song out of my head. The beat produced by Mr Kanye West and Nottz has been replaying through my mind each day.The song name ‘Nosetalgia’ is a pun on nose & nostalgia referencing about cocaine. But what makes this track what it is are the deep, meaningful lyrics portrayed by both Pusha and King Kendrick.  Both artists go IN on this track and while each of them talk about the same subject (cocaine) it is shown in two different lights. Pusha raps about his past in selling cocaine for half of his life and looking back on his childhood while doing that. Kendrick speaks about him being a kid in the 80’s and watching his father sniff it, so there are two different views and sides to this song. Incredibly intelligent from both artists.
